Our Community Dinner Tables

At least three times per year FEEDing Frenz holds soup kitchen-style dinners for those in need in the eastern region of Monmouth County, New Jersey. Our Community Dinner Tables are held on, but not limited to Easter Sunday, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Guests include the hungry, the homeless, the poor, and the lonely. Dinner is provided free of charge to any person who wants or needs a meal. Children and adults of all ages are invited to attend. Dinner is served for two to three hours on a first come, first served basis. Guests are invited to dinner through visits to various local soup kitchens, food pantries, AIDS service organizations, churches, community service agencies, healthcare centers, and police departments. Volunteers speak to clients of those groups and distribute flyers with invitation information. All food served for dinner and all supplies are provided by FEEDing Frenz or donated by members of the community. Volunteers of FEEDing Frenz also provide preparation, serving, and clean-up of dinner.

Most volunteers have been involved with our past community service events. In our desire to provide and restore dignity to those we serve, the venues we select and the procedures we use allow us to treat our invitees as "special guests" rather than "clients in need". We achieve this by partnering with local restauranteurs  who provide their establishments free of charge for the day. Since 2006 we have partnered with Marilyn Schlossbach of Kitschens Catering and the good folks of Langosta Lounge in Asbury Park. The owner and staff members also volunteer their time and talents to cook the meal and provide some of the food served.  During our Dinner Tables we distribute canned goods, clothing, and personal toiletry items to our dinner guests which have been donated and collected by our volunteers. On Christmas Day, Santa makes a special visit  to all the  girls and boys of the community who come by for dinner. He hands out gifts which have been donated and wrapped by volunteers of FEEDing Frenz and Kitschens Catering.
